      Alex Warren is anything but Ordinary with third week at Number 1

      Plus, big new entries and risers from Ariana Grande, sombr and Dire Straits.

      It’s a third week at Number 1 in the UK forAlex Warren

      Ordinary holds strong for its third consecutive week at the top of the Official Singles Chart – successfully holding off competition fromChappell Roan’s former chart-topper Pink Pony Club (2) andDoechii’s Anxiety (3).  

      According to Official Charts Company data, Ordinary has seen its third consecutive week of growth at Number 1 to 71,000 chart units. It also retains its spot as the most-streamed song of the last seven days (8.2 million streams).  

      The success of Ordinary also continues to boost Alex’s other material; Carry You Home is up one to a new peak inside the Top 10 (9). 

      Ariana Grande floats in on high with this week’s highest new entry. twilight zone debuts straight in at Number 5 – it becomes Ari’s 24th UK Top 10 single. Two more tracks from eternal sunshine: brighter days ahead also impact the Top 40 today; dandelion (19) and intro (end of the world) (26), which brings the Oscar-nominated superstar’s all-time tally to 41 UK Top 40 hits. 

      Answer the phone!Drake’s NOKIA comes calling for a Top 10 entry, up two from last week (10). It becomes Drizzy’s 46th entry in the Top 10. 

      Ravyn Lenae’s Love Me Not is up four (15), while Leon Thomas continues to gain ground with MUTT, barking its way to a new peak (22).  

      Gen Z touchstone singer, songwriter and producer sombr earns his first two UK Top 40 singles today; back to friends is up eight (35) while undressed is this week’s big gainer, vaulting 28 places (37). 

      Sonny Fodera and Clementine Douglas continue to move up with Tell Me rising three (36), while Nemzzz celebrates his first Top 40 single, DILEMMA featuringCentral Cee debuts at Number 39. It adds a 32nd Top 40 single to his career total. 

      Finally, UK rock iconsDire Straits see their 1978 debut single Sultans of Swing re-enter the Official Singles Chart for the first time in 46 years, re-entering at Number 41. Upon its original release, Sultans of Swing peaked at Number 8 in the UK. It was the first of five Top 10 hits for Mark Knopfler and co.

      Let's be honest.. the only two people looking forward to seeing Alex at number one were Alex and his wife. 


      He does have better songs with value but Ordinary just doesn't do it for me. I'm sure he's a nice guy though.

      Oh wow... wasn't expecting Dire Straits to be so close to the Top 40! Does anyone know why 'Sultans Of Swing' is doing this well again?
