Lily Allen‘s new songs are “some of the best she’s written”, producer Mark Ronson has said.

Ronson previously collaborated with Allen on her 2006 single ‘Littlest Things’ and a cover of Kaiser Chiefs’ ‘Oh My God’ that became a Top Ten hit the following year.

He has now revealed that he is working with Allen again on her follow-up to 2014’s ‘Sheezus’ album, which despite reaching Number One was less successful critically and commercially than her previous LPs, 2006’s ‘Alright, Still’ and 2009’s ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’.

“We’ve been writing together again on the new record,” Ronson toldThe Sun. “I feel like they are some of the best songs she’s written. Her voice sounds incredible. The stuff I’m working on is some of her most honest and heartbreaking music ever. She writes so honestly you can feel it.”

Ronson also said of Allen, who pulled out of this weekend’s Glastonbury Festival with aknee injury: “She’s like a needed performer. There’s nobody really doing shit like that, really honest.”

Meanwhile, Allen has been sharing her views on the fall-out from Brexit this morning, branding Prime Minister David Cameron“reckless” in his handling of last week’s historic EU Referendum.
