ᾠδὴ ψαλμοῦ τῷ Δαυιδ (A song. A psalm. Of David.)Canticum Psalmi, ipsi David.
2ἑτοίμη ἡ καρδία μου ὁ θεός ἑτοίμη ἡ καρδία μου ᾄσομαι καὶ ψαλῶ ἐν τῇ δόξῃ μου3ἐξεγέρθητι ψαλτήριον καὶ κιθάρα ἐξεγερθήσομαι ὄρθρου4ἐξομολογήσομαί σοι ἐν λαοῖς κύριε καὶ ψαλῶ σοι ἐν ἔθνεσιν5ὅτι μέγα ἐπάνω τῶν οὐρανῶν τὸ ἔλεός σου καὶ ἕως τῶν νεφελῶν ἡ ἀλήθειά σου6ὑψώθητι ἐπὶ τοὺς οὐρανούς ὁ θεός καὶ ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν ἡ δόξα σου7ὅπως ἂν ῥυσθῶσιν οἱ ἀγαπητοί σου σῶσον τῇ δεξιᾷ σου καὶ ἐπάκουσόν μου8ὁ θεὸς ἐλάλησεν ἐν τῷ ἁγίῳ αὐτοῦ ὑψωθήσομαι καὶ διαμεριῶ Σικιμα καὶ τὴν κοιλάδα τῶν σκηνῶν διαμετρήσω9ἐμός ἐστιν Γαλααδ καὶ ἐμός ἐστιν Μανασση καὶ Εφραιμ ἀντίλημψις τῆς κεφαλῆς μου Ιουδας βασιλεύς μου10Μωαβ λέβης τῆς ἐλπίδος μου ἐπὶ τὴν Ιδουμαίαν ἐκτενῶ τὸ ὑπόδημά μου ἐμοὶ ἀλλόφυλοι ὑπετάγησαν11τίς ἀπάξει με εἰς πόλιν περιοχῆς τίς ὁδηγήσει με ἕως τῆς Ιδουμαίας12οὐχὶ σύ ὁ θεός ὁ ἀπωσάμενος ἡμᾶς καὶ οὐκ ἐξελεύσῃ ὁ θεός ἐν ταῖς δυνάμεσιν ἡμῶν13δὸς ἡμῖν βοήθειαν ἐκ θλίψεως καὶ ματαία σωτηρία ἀνθρώπου14ἐν τῷ θεῷ ποιήσομεν δύναμιν καὶ αὐτὸς ἐξουδενώσει τοὺς ἐχθροὺς ἡμῶν2 A true heart, my God, a heart true to thy service; I will sing of thee and praise thee.3 Wake, my heart, wake, echoes of harp and viol; dawn shall find me watching.4 Let me give thanks, Lord, for all the world to hear it, sing psalms while the Gentiles listen,5 of thy mercy, high above heaven itself, of thy faithfulness, that reaches the clouds!6 O God, mount high above the heavens[1] till thy glory overshadows the whole earth.7 Now bring aid to the men thou lovest, give our prayer answer, and lift thy right hand to save.8 God’s word came to us from his sanctuary: In triumph I will divide up Sichem, and parcel out the valley of Tents;9 to me Galaad, to me Manasses belongs; Ephraim is my helmet, Juda the staff I bear.10 Now Moab, too, shall be my drudge; over Edom I will claim my right; I will lead the Philistines away in triumph.11 Such was the oracle; but now who is to lead me on my march against this fortress, who is to find an entrance for me into Edom,12 when thou, O God, hast disowned us, and wilt not go into battle with our armies?13 It is thou that must deliver us from peril; vain is the help of man.14 Only through God can we fight victoriously; only he can trample our oppressors in the dust.[2]2Paratum cor meum, Deus, paratum cor meum;
cantabo, et psallam in gloria mea.
3
Exsurge, gloria mea; exsurge, psalterium et cithara;
exsurgam diluculo.
4
Confitebor tibi in populis, Domine,
et psallam tibi in nationibus:
5
quia magna est super cælos misericordia tua,
et usque ad nubes veritas tua.
6
Exaltare super cælos, Deus,
et super omnem terram gloria tua:
7
ut liberentur dilecti tui.
Salvum fac dextera tua, et exaudi me.
8
Deus locutus est in sancto suo:
Exsultabo, et dividam Sichimam;
et convallem tabernaculorum dimetiar.
9
Meus est Galaad, et meus est Manasses,
et Ephraim susceptio capitis mei.
Juda rex meus;
10
Moab lebes spei meæ:
in Idumæam extendam calceamentum meum;
mihi alienigenæ amici facti sunt.
11
Quis deducet me in civitatem munitam?
quis deducet me usque in Idumæam?
12
nonne tu, Deus, qui repulisti nos?
et non exibis, Deus, in virtutibus nostris?
13
Da nobis auxilium de tribulatione,
quia vana salus hominis.
14
In Deo faciemus virtutem;
et ipse ad nihilum deducet inimicos nostros.
