Named for Andrew M. Davis (1950 - ), Professor of Cosmochemistry, University of Chicago, in honor of his outstanding contributions to meteorite research.
Pyroxene Group,Clinopyroxene Subgroup. The Sc analogue ofburnettite (V),esseneite (Fe3+),grossmanite (Ti3+), andkushiroite (Al).

Second Ca-Al-Sc mineral afterwarkite.

Likely a product of condensation/evaporation within the solar nebula.
