TheWinter Tour was the fifth tour ofMario Kart Tour, which began on November 20, 2019 and ended on December 3, 2019. Reflecting its theme,DK Pass fromMario Kart DS made a return, and a variant ofMario in hisSanta outfit fromSuper Mario Odyssey was introduced. In this tour,festive trees were added on all courses featured; hitting one with an item during a race would grant "Happy Holidays!" bonus points. This tour also introducedBlack Shy Guy andPink Gold Peach as new drivers. Notably, this was the first tour to introduce R/T variants ofclassic courses (those beingSNES Rainbow Road,3DS Daisy Hills, and3DS Mario Circuit), as before this tour, said variants of tracks were exclusive tonew courses. The menu's background featured a backdrop for DK Pass and a festive tree as landmarks for this tour.

Drivers with a corresponding cup in the tour were bumped one rank up in every course of their cup. Each one had a specific kart and glider pair that were also bumped one rank up, though these sometimes changed between tours.

^a - Starting from this tour to the 2020 Trick Tour (inclusive), packs introduced in the first week of the tour are no longer available during the second week of the tour. The same applies to the standard value pack. However, it worked differently from the other packs in that the value pack would be introduced in the first week, and then removed and replaced with another identical value pack (also containing 5 rubies, 2 star tickets, and 3 items tickets) in the second week. If the player purchased the value pack in the first week of the tour, the same exact value pack would reappear for the player to purchase a second time during the second week. However, if the player did not purchase the pack during the first week, it will still show that only one pack is available to purchase during the second week, as opposed to there being two available.
