The episodeThe Adventures of Sherlock Mario ofThe Super Mario Bros. Super Show! takes place in a fictional city known asVictoria, which is heavily based on London. The name itself is named after theVictorian Period, which took place in the mid-to-late 19th century and is named afterQueen Victoria.Mario describes Victoria as being the land of mystery, cloaks and daggers and screams in the night and is somewhat dark and gloomy in appearance at night, being surrounded by extremely thick fog. This clearly alludes to the city of London's portrayal in popular media such as mystery movies and books. The episode also features the characterHerlock Solmes, who is based on the fictional British detectiveSherlock Holmes.

Super Mario Odyssey[edit]

The first location that Mario visits inSuper Mario Odyssey isBonneton in theCap Kingdom, which is also heavily based on Victorian Period London.
