Mame-san are green, bean-like enemies that appear inYoshi's New Island. They are only found inWorld 1-8: Big Beanie's Castle. They approachYoshi andBaby Mario by hopping towards him in a similar manner toBurts from the previousYoshi's Island games. They are the only new enemies in the game that are not a variant of an existing enemy. In the castle's final room,Kamek "plants" a Mame-san with his hammer, which grows into a beanstalk leading to the sky, where it grows intoBig Beanie, the boss of the level. During the boss battle, Big Beanie spits out Mame-san at Yoshi, which he can eat to makeeggs to throw at Big Beanie.
