Kensuke Tanabe (田邊 賢輔) is a Japanese video game developer and producer employed byNintendo. Tanabe, after graduating from the Visual Concept Planning Department of theOsaka University of Arts, decided to join Nintendo and was first enrolled intoNintendo EAD in 1986. One of his first assignements was developing a prototype for a vertical scrolling-focusedSuper Mario-style platformer, which would serve as the basis ofYume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic.[2]
Tanabe currently works as the head ofNintendo EPD Group No. 6, a division of Nintendo focused on assisting coproductions with western developers.
