Jetpac is a shooter video game released in 1983 forZX Spectrum andVIC-20 as the first creation ofRare in 1983, which was known as Ultimate Play the Game at the time of its release.

In the game, the player plays as an astronaut trying to repair his spaceship while avoiding aliens. The astronaut has to collect all the pieces for his ship and fuel while blasting aliens with his laser gun. Each part of the ship is worth 100 points when retrieved and each alien is worth 25 points when blasted. Rare remade the game on Xbox Live Arcade asJetpac Refuelled. They also re-released the game and its remake on Xbox One as part ofRare Replay.

Donkey Kong 64

The ZX Spectrum version ofJetpac is playable inDonkey Kong 64 as a test byCranky Kong in hislab after the player gets 15Banana Medals. In this version of the game, the player must score 5000 points within 3 lives to cause aRareware Coin to start spawning and then collect the Coins while it spawns.Jetpac can also be played from theMystery option, where it is unlocked after collecting sixBanana Fairies.

• TheDonkey Kong 64 version ofJetpac uses an emulator whichRare originally developed for a scrapped Easter egg inGoldenEye. The emulator still exists in that game's code alongside a text file listing various Rare-made ZX Spectrum games, includingJetpac.^[1]
