Gritzy Desert

TheGritzy Desert is a large, barren desert in the northeastern-most part of theMushroom Kingdom appearing inMario & Luigi: Partners in Time. There is also evidence of remains of train tracks or mine-carts tracks.

In the game, the Mario Bros. arrive here during their quest to find theCobalt Star pieces. TheKoopaseum is located in the middle of the desert andGritzy Caves is found below the desert. WhenMario,Luigi,Baby Mario, andBaby Luigi attempt to enter the Koopaseum through the front door, they run away when a hoard of Shroobs from inside chases after them. After the group manages to escape all but one Shroob, Mario meetsKylie Koopa, who informs him about a secret entrance to the Koopaseum that is unlocked by activating fourDry Bones statues scattered around the desert, while Luigi, Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi are chased by the Shroob, eventually defeating it.
