TheFake Chomp, originally known as theChomp Shell, is a weapon forBowser inSuper Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. It appears to be the empty shell of aChain Chomp, though the EnglishSNES version's description specifiesKinklinks. It acts as a weaker version of theChain Chomp Bowser can recruit fromBooster Tower by solving theElder Key puzzle. To attack with it, Bowser swings it as a flail before throwing it at an enemy. ATimed Hit can be performed by pressing the button as the shell hits an enemy, boosting the attack power slightly. The Fake Chomp has an attack power of nine points with a random variation of up to three points above and below. It can be bought from the shop in theMarrymore hotel for 60coins.
