Doop Doop Dunes is a desert area found inMario & Luigi: Paper Jam. It is west ofBowser's Castle, east ofSunbeam Plains, north ofTwinsy Tropics and south ofMount Brrr.

History[edit]

First visit[edit]

Mario and co. cross the desert to reach Bowser's Castle to save the Princesses. When they first arrive, they encounterNabbit and give chase, retrieving twoBros. Attacks. However, as they continue, they are thrown back by aBig Pokey andPaper Tower Power Pokey, landing behind a stone brick. Here, they learn theTrio Hammer and continue, but the twoPokeys flip the bridge, sending Mario and Luigi down intoDoop Doop Dunes Grotto.

After exiting Doop Doop Dunes Grotto, they arrive at a Toad village. They rescue more Paper Toads, which build them a largeTrampoline they can use to reach the Pokeys. After returning to the grotto to do so, they proceed, only to encounterKamek and Paper Kamek. The two createPapercraft Kamek, and an army ofPapercraft Goombas andPapercraft Pokeys, butToadette arrives withPapercraft Luigi. After a battle, the bros emerge victorious, and can finally cross the bridge toBowser Castle. However, after they cross, the bridge is hit with a cannonball, and a second one knocks out the Mario Bros. They are arrested byWendy,Roy,Larry,Ludwig and an army ofChargin' Chucks.

Second visit[edit]

After falling offMount Brrr, the team arrives in Doop Doop Dunes again. They can optionally encounter Nabbit two more times for more Bros. Attacks. When they try to leave the desert, they will be ambushed by the same Chargin' Chuck army as before.

In the area where Bros. learn the Trio Hammer move, going south from the northern entrance and destroying stone block along the way, these 5 drill spots are found around the darker circular ground in the star shape. In the area where Bros. learn the Trio Hammer move, these 3 drill spots are found on some higher ground which bypasses the sand slide, namely at the west end of it under two large stone blocks which need to be destroyed to uncover the drill spots. In the Grotto area, namely in the area where the Big Pokey Duo is battled, these 3 drill spots are found close to the south-western exit, namely one "island" to the east.
