TheDaytripper, known as theRoyal Racer in British English, is akart from theMario Kart series. The vehicle resembles an old-fashioned and decorated horse-drawn coach, with its rear tires larger than the front. The emblem is located on the sides and back of the kart. Its American English name is a reference to the Beatles' song "Day Tripper", and its Spanish name references the lyrics "She was a daytripper, Sunday driver yeah".

Mario Kart Wii
The Daytripper first appears inMario Kart Wii as a medium-sized kart. It can be unlocked by winning the 150ccLeaf Cup or by playing 2,700 races. The kart features great handling along with decent weight, acceleration, off-road, andMini-Turbo. However, its speed and drifting are below average. It shares the same weight as the Standard Kart M, the same acceleration as theStandard Bike S and theWario Bike, and the same off-road as theQuacker. However, it is the slowest medium kart in the game and its drifting is the same as theMagikruiser, while its speed and mini-turbo are tied with theCheep Charger. Its bike counterpart is theSugarscoot, while its small and large counterparts are theBooster Seat andOffroader respectively. This and the Sugarscoot are the only medium vehicles with a speed stat of less than thirty-five. Its stat total is 323 stat points. It will be able to drift on normal off-road terrain ifYoshi,Birdo,Bowser Jr. or aMii drives it.

Mario Kart Tour
The Daytripper returns inMario Kart Tour, where it is classified as a Super kart. It uses theWood tires fromMario Kart 8 andMario Kart 8 Deluxe, although footage of theYoshi's Egg item from the officialMario Kart Tour Twitter account shows it with theSlick tires from the aforementioned games instead.[1] Unlike inMario Kart Wii, it only has Peach's color scheme no matter what driver is using it, and the lights at the front are no longer shaped like flowers. The Daytripper increases the duration ofDash Panel boosts and the amount of points earned for using Dash Panels.
The Daytripper also has two variants: a red, white, and pink variant of this kart called theSweet Daytripper, introduced in thePeach Tour, and a black and gold variant called theHead Honcho, introduced in theSummer Festival Tour. Both variants are classified as High-End karts.
The Daytripper is a regular item in pipes and the shop's Daily Selects set. It has been obtainable through other means as well; below are instances of special availability for the kart listed by tour.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
Princess Peach's Daytripper makes a cameo appearance as atrophy inSuper Smash Bros. for Wii U. The player can obtain the trophy at random in the game's single-player modes.
