Darkwater Beach
Darkwater Beach is the challenge level ofSherbet Island in the gameDiddy Kong Racing and its remake,Diddy Kong Racing DS. In theNintendo 64 version, the player can play the battle stage anytime after it is unlocked via theWish Key found inCrescent Island, but in theDS remake, they can only play it during multiplayer mode.
During gameplay, the racer, while riding on theHovercraft, has to strike down their rivals with items. The setting is on a beach that seemingly has "dark" water due to the starry night complete with the full moon which looks more realistic in the remake. There are two mini shores on two corners and two bridges on the other two corners. In the middle is an arch. The objective to win is the same toIcicle Pyramid, if the player gets hit four times, they vanish. The last person standing is crowned as the winner.
