Blue Spaces (known asplus spaces inMario Party 5,Safe Spaces inMario Party: Island Tour, andCoin Spaces inMario Party 10) arespaces in theMario Party series that providecoins (three to twelve, depending on the game and specific circumstances) tocharacters who land upon them. They appear in everyMario Party game except forMario Party-e,Mario Party Advance, andMario Party 9, but they are the most common spaces in the series. These spaces can vary in hue and shape, depending on the game. InMario Party: Island Tour, they have a much different role: They protect the player from getting hit by theBanzai Bill inBanzai Bill's Mad Mountain, and only one player can occupy one at a time. InMario Party 10, they appear only inamiibo Party and give the player three coins (six during the homestretch) when they land on one. Blue Spaces make a small appearance inMario Party: Star Rush as simple spots the player moves on in the Coinathlon game mode. InMario Party: The Top 100, they make a cameo on some of the box art in the Collection. Although Blue Spaces do not appear inMario Party 9, a similar-looking space known as theSpecial Dice Block Space appears.
