Bazaar is a member of theBrothers Bear inDonkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. He runs ageneral store nearFunky's Rentals from the southern part of theNorthern Kremisphere map, hence his name being taken from "bazaar," another word referring to a marketplace or shopping center. At his store, Bazaar is selling ashell that he found at the bottom ofLake Orangatanga and amirror that belonged toCranky Kong'sgreat grandfather for 5 and 50 bear coins respectively. In theGame Boy Advance remake, he also sells abox of chocolates for 20 bear coins. Bazaar can be the first Brothers Bear whomDixie Kong andKiddy Kong visit. He has the most dialogue out of the other Brothers Bear.Dixie andKiddy Kong can buy some information from Bazaar regardingsecret caves or vague information regarding amysterious castle. In the original version only, when purchasing information on the castle, Bazaar also mentions an encounter he had withLink (and also references theSecret Seashells).[1]
General information
Physical appearance
Bazaar is a brown-furred bear who is only wearing a white apron. His artwork andDixie Kong's Photo Album photograph also show him with a small, black mustache. In theGame Boy Advance remake, Bazaar is wearing a yellow sombrero and a black backpack. TheBears fromDonkey Kong Land III would go on to appear similarly to Bazaar.
Personality
Bazaar shares a personality with a typical shopkeeper, as he utilizes common sales techniques to arouse interest in his products,[2] and he charges high prices for items that he sells. Even after purchasing the information, Bazaar still charges theKongs to hear the information again. Around the time when theKnautilus is revealed inKrematoa, Bazaar sold a fan toBoomer for him to cool himself down from the resulting heat. Boomer affirms that Bazaar does not sell products for cheap.[3]
