Per communications with David Hillis, Hobart M. Smith passed awayyesterday, March 4, 2013. He was 100 years old.Hobart was the author of over 1600 publications in herpetologyincluding various large monographs and classic textbooks, and isconsidered one of the giants in herpetology.
