Football in Andorra is administered by the Andorran Football Federation who oversee the Andorran national football team, as well as the Andorran First and Second Divisions. The Andorran First Division (Lliga andorrana de futbol) is the top football league for the country of Andorra. The league is a part-time league: all of the clubs and the majority of the players are part-time. The league was launched in 1995 sponsored by the local federation (Andorran Football Federation) which was created just one year before, in 1994. All the teams in the league play in the same stadiums, Estadi Comunal d'Aixovall and Estadi Comunal d'Andorra la Vella . The same occurs in all other Andorran competitions, such as Copa Constitució and Supercopa. The most famous Andorran player is probably Albert Celades who has played for both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. |
