The 82nd Venice International Film Festival is organised by La Biennale di Venezia and directed by Alberto Barbera. It ran on the Lido di Venezia from 27 August to 6 September 2025. The Festival is officially recognised by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Association).
The aim of the Festival is to raise awareness and promote international cinema in all its forms as art, entertainment and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue. One section is devoted to enhance the restoration works on classic films as a contribution towards a better understanding of the history of cinema.
Nuestra Tierra by Lucrecia Martel wins the Best Film award.
Announced by the five international Juries during the Awards Ceremony that was held on Saturday 6th September at 7:00 pm.
Independently awarded by associations of film critics, clubs and cultural associations, and cinema professionals.
The Venice Production Bridge welcomes film industry professionals, offering the infrastructure and services to support and encourage business activities within the 82nd Venice Film Festival.
The initiative intends to provide concrete assistance in the completion of films from Africa and from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen.
The award ceremony will take place on Wednesday 3 September in the Palazzo del Cinema at 9:30 pm, before the screening Out of Competition of his new film,In the Hand of Dante.

The screenings of theVenezia Spotlight films will be followed by Q&A with the directors and cast, hosted by Chiara Tagliaferri with the support of the 82nd Venice Film Festival’s main sponsor, Armani beauty.
Four feature films of the Biennale College Cinema and thirteen short films from the Orizzonti and Out of Competition sections to stream online.
