About
Tony Thirlwall is a Professor of Applied Economics. He was born in 1941 and received his higher education at the Universities of Leeds and Cambridge, and Clark University (USA). Virtually the whole of his academic career has been spent at the University of Kent, which he joined as a lecturer in 1966, but he has also worked as a government economic adviser, and held various visiting positions including West Virginia University (1967); Princeton University (1971-72); University of Papua New Guinea (1974); Cambridge University (1979, 1986); Melbourne University (1981, 1988), and La Trobe University (1994). He has lectured widely overseas.
