Ota started to skate because her parents wanted her to practice sports. Not far from her home, there was a swimming pool and an ice rink, and as the pool was overcrowded, the parents picked the ice rink. Ota has two brothers, one is two years her senior and the other is three years her junior. Ota admires 1994 World Champion Yuka Sato (JPN) for her skating skills and technical abilities. She met Sato and got her advice. |
