It’s Official: Lady Gaga to Headline 2017 Super Bowl Halftime Show
"It's not an illusion," the pop star tweeted Thursday. "This year the SUPER BOWL goes GAGA!"

Following much speculation,Lady Gaga and the NFL confirmed on Thursday that she will be headlining Fox’sSuper Bowl LI halftime show.
This will be her second time performing at the Super Bowl. The “Perfect Illusion” singer sang the national anthem atSuper Bowl 50 last February.
Gaga announced the news on Twitter.

“Lady Gaga is one of the most electric performers of our generation, and we couldn’t be happier with the choice to have her headline the Super Bowl LI Halftime Show,” said JohnEntz, Fox Sports president and executive producer, in a statement. “It is going to be an incredible night.”
Gaga’s fifth studio album,Joanne, debuts Oct. 21, and she currently stars in Ryan Murphy’s sixth season ofAmerican Horror Story. After joining Murphy’s FX anthology series last season, she has appeared in two episodes, so far, of season six as a special guest-star. She won a Golden Globe for her performance as the Countess in AHS season five.
Gaga will join CurtMenefee and MichaelStrahan on the Fox NFL pregame show on Oct. 2 to reveal what she has planned for the Super Bowl halftime show.
Coldplay, Beyonce and Bruno Mars performed at last year’s Super Bowl 50 halftime show in February.
“Lady Gaga is one of the most iconic and talented artists of this generation,” said Mark Quenzel, NFL senior vp programming and production, in a statement. “After her remarkable performance singing the National Anthem at Super Bowl 50, we are excited to see what she has in store for the world’s biggest stage – the Pepsi Zero Sugar Super Bowl LI Halftime Show.”
The Pepsi Zero Sugar Super Bowl LI Halftime Show will take place atNRG Stadium in Houston and will air on Fox on Feb. 5, 2017.
