‘Game of Thrones’ Casts Liam Cunningham as Davos Seaworth
Reportedly, the Irish actor fills the last major role of Season 2.

The Seven Kingdoms of Westeros are experiencing a population boom. On the heels of Tuesday’s news thatStephen Dillane andCarice van Houten have joinedHBO’s secondseason ofGame of Thrones, another actor reportedly fills the last major new role of next season.

An HBO spokesperson confirms toThe Hollywood Reporterthat acting vetLiam Cunningham is joining the series, as firstreported by EW.
Cunningham plays Davos Seaworth, a former smuggler who earned the nickname the “Onion Knight” for his history of smuggling onions among other things. He’s knighted and becomes a great supporter and confidante to Lord Stannis Baratheon (Dillane).
The Irish actor’s TV and film credits go back to the early-1990s. He appeared in Starz’sCamelot and starred in the BBC One series,Outcasts. His film resume includes 2010’sClash of the Titans,The Wind that Shakes the Barley, andDog Soldiers.
Cunningham is repped by Management 360 andSarah Camlettat Independent Talent Group.
Game of Thrones is based on theA Song of Ice and Fire novels by authorGeorge R. R. Martin.
