Stebro

Stebro Systems Ltd. was established in Canada in 1956 to supply replacement parts for high-performance and imported cars. In the early 1960s, as a means of promoting themselves, the company paid for the construction of Formula Junior chassis for the Canadian market. In 1963 the company managed to convince the organizers atWatkins Glen to allow it to run a couple ofFord-engined Stebro 4 chassis in theUnited States Grand Prix. In fact only one appeared. It was driven byPeter Broeker and it was 15secs off the pace of polemanGraham Hill in practice. In the race Broeker managed to keep the car running but he had covered only 88 of the 110 laps when the race finished. He was classified seventh.
