"Uruguayan (British-made) LBA F6 PASGT helmet. It is issued to Uruguayan UN peacekeeping missions, with an ambition to equip with these the whole army. The shape is standard PASGT-type but the liner system is typical for LBA products. The liner is held by four rivets (possibly there could be more but the LBA catalogue features pictures with four rivets). Chinstrap is three-point and features a flexible rubber chincup. The helmets should have been used with the blue UN cover, but latter were claimed to be uncomfortable and scratched the head with the elasticated drawstring. Hence many of them were removed and the helmets were painted in blue instead." |
