The Mayor is his Freeper handle. The Mayor had a daily scriptural post on Free Republic for many years. He's in the hospital and use our prayers. ❤️🙏
His name is Russ Thompson, a conservative activist in the Western New York (Buffalo) area. Among his accomplishments was leading the fight to get toll booths removed on I-190 in Buffalo, and led fund raising efforts for many local candidates.
He is also my friend.

Could I ask for your prayers for my daughter-in-law, Ashley?
She just earned her dream job in the VA and is a dedicated employee. She isn’t just sitting collecting a paycheck. She puts the time in. She does the job and is a hard worker. Ashley assists vets with their benefits. Yes, she works from home, but can go into an office if requested.
Sadly, in her case it appears that a few bad apples may cause the VA to ax the good along with the bad. It hasn’t happened yet, but the kids got an email today that stated she could face job loss.
If you would be inclined, please lift Ashley up in prayer that her value is seen, and her job remains that she is not a casualty of DOGE removing waste.
I just don’t know how to put this any better. No one owes her a job. She has worked hard, went to school, she and my son have live frugally for years to get to this point in their lives. Naturally with a new home and mortgage payments, they are scared. I would ask for God's grace and protection be placed over them and that whatever His will, the kids will come out stronger and more secure, not losing their home.
Thank you prayer warriors. Life isn’t fair, but our God is great. And he has overcome this world.

UPDATE ON PREVIOUS POSTS(2/18/25) My spasms have left... they were due to the new back unit my daughter bought me for Christmas. Can’t use that any more...sigh.
Cold is hanging on but with Ivermectin I think it will be able to be knocked.
PLEASE continue to pray for my adopted daughter’s job situation. Her developmental delay makes this a touchy situation. She is working with a Job coach from our local Regional Center. She so wants to be independent but cannot do so financially.

Dennis Prager Health Update!
Nationally syndicated radio host Dennis Prager says he hopes to return to the radio soon after sustaining a serious injury in November, according to his family and colleagues. That could also mean his weekly columns might be returning to The Daily Signal, too, as Prager is a longtime favorite of Daily Signal readers.
“When you hear him on the radio, you’ll say he hasn’t skipped a beat, that’s for sure,” the columnist’s son, David Prager, said.
Dennis Prager sustained a spinal cord injury after a fall at his home Nov. 12 and has been in recovery since. He is currently paralyzed from the shoulders down but is showing promising incremental improvements, including eating and talking regularly, according to a video message on Friday from PragerU CEO Marissa Streit and Chief Development Officer David Prager. The elder Prager sustained no brain injuries from the fall, according to Streit.

Update on Natalie (finally!). Thanks so much for all of the prayers, and for the thread. It finally looks like she has turned a corner and her mind is slowly healing. I’m having a PET Scan soon and am praying for a clean scan.
I am also having a procedure to check my throat because I have been having a hard time swallowing for over two years now. I’m worried the cancer has progressed or of having a different kind of cancer.

My COPD has taken a bad turn, and left me pretty much on needing oxygen 24/7.
Nobody is sure why, as I have been really careful about doing as my doctor recommends, but my breathing has become so much worse!
COPD is unfortunately a progressive disease, so things like this are not entirely unexpected, but still..
I would appreciate prayers so that I can at least do some of the things I used to enjoy, without becoming so SOB, that it is frightening.
I’ve been also been struggling with the return of my back pain and a thyroid condition.

Requesting Prayers for My Wife (Debra) of 14 years She is going to be having a Heart Valve replacement surgery tomorrow Thursday 01/30/2025.
We have been told that She will be coming Home on Friday 01/31/2025.
I'm obviously worried, concerned and anxious about the situation but trying not to show it.
She worked in the Cardiac Unit back when She was in Erie, PA years ago and is acting like it's no big deal.

(1/08/25 On Saturday afternoon I lost 1/2 of the vision in my right eye from a branch retinal artery occlusion.
According to what my eye doctor, it is highly unlikely the vision will return. I would be totally without hope we’re it not for my faith in Jesus Christ. Even as tears stream down my face, I have chosen faith in my Savior.

UPDATE (1/5/2025) 3 broken ribs and a pelvic fracture. There was a bleeder caused by the pelvic fracture but they nipped that in the bud, thank you very much.
The pelvic fractures do not require corrective surgery.>p> All in all, for an 86 year old guy who just got T-boned that’s as well as can be expected.

On Monday, Lysie had a mini-stroke. She is home and on medication but she is a little bit confused. She hasn’t been using electronics like her phone or computer.

My mom has been suffering some sort of nerve issue in her leg to the point that she cannot even walk right now and was in extraordinary pain up until about last weekend. It's not fun watching your mom cry from pain!
Since Thanksgiving, we've had an ER visit, a doctor's visit, and an orthopedic urgent care visit. A CT scan and two sets of X-rays. They've had her on two different muscle relaxers, a NSAID and a round of steroids and nothing was working. Want to know what finally started to work?
A red light therapy boot that I bought for my twisted ankle (the worst pain traveled from her hip down into her foot) and 5 homeopathic pellets every 4-5 hours (Rhus Tox 200c). Today was the first day she has been able to walk across the room without a walker since Thanksgiving.
I suspect it's a sciatica issue, but we couldn't get an appointment with a spine specialist until after the new year.
I have been driving an hour each way across the valley to take care of her and am exhausted.

UPDATE: (11/19/2024) Praise Report: Son #1 did not, after all, require a second cardiac stent. Upon undergoing a second stress test, he was cleared. Doc said the confusion resulted most likely because he took longer than expected to heal from the first stent.
Praise to our Glorious Lord. Thank you to all Prayer Warriors.

Son #4 is dealing with debilitating rheumatoid arthritis, and in December he will undergo radiofrequency ablation in hopes of alleviating some of his back pain.

Granddaughter Scarrlett needs prayers. She is 5 months old, and not gaining weight on formula - . About the same, at 5 months she is not gaining weight on formula and is still not a normal baby.
Broken wrist clean break is healed, 1 round of TP, hand is improving, but will need a 2nd round. Praise God it was not worse..

I need to lose a lot of weight. I’m haunted by my past and am now the only member of my immediate family left. Having lost my last sibling, I’m the Last Mohican and can’t get out of bed often due to depression.
I have a lot of things to do for the remaining estate. I also gave up my talent long ago, owing to extreme pressure by my first spouse, costing me my self-esteem.

I'll make this short and to the point. I am requesting prayers for my wife Sharee. The doctors found a mass on her pancreas and liver. She has 2 appointments scheduled, one for a CT Guided liver biopsy, and another one for an Endoscopic Ultrasound to get a biopsy and closer image of her pancreas. As of now the doctors believe she has cancer, but they need these tests done to be sure. Her appointments on Nov 21st, and Nov 26th.
My wife is 55, and as many already know she is a paraplegic. We were in a car accident back in 1987 and she has been in a wheelchair ever since, because she severed her spine at the T-6 level. Please keep her in your prayers that the tests will show the masses are benign. If she has cancer, please pray that God will heal her.
I will keep my FReeper profile updated with information as things progress, which I pray all goes well.

Update: (11/17/24) Team of Drs. met and determined NOT to do the Prognostic Test as scheduled for Tues.... ‘Praise the Lord’ ....instead they want to wait 3 months and do another Cat scan and see how things look at that time.
This is such a great relief and I can handle waiting another 3 months.....this is Gods doing and an answer to prayers. His name is greatly to be praised!

UPDATE: (11/11/24)
First time back in my basement office since June. It is been a long slog. The Whipple itself was fine, but a "complication" in the form of a nicked renal artery spoiled an otherwise well executed Whipple.
I bled significant amount of blood into my abdomen before a CT scan spotted the origin of the bleed and "interventional radiology" performed an embolization of the "leak". 10 transfusions followed to get enough blood circulating to keep me alive. The pools of blood in my abdomen required drains for a period of months and pressure from the blood hampered the Whipple recovery.
In the midst of all that, I contracted an MRSA pneumonia and required weeks of IV vancomycin to clear it. I'm finally building back muscle lost to atrophy from being in a hospital bed too long.
I'm still tethered to a naso-jejunal feeding tube supplying 1800 calories per day. I eat regular food now that it can pass from stomach to jejunum. The Whipple really didn't get to "functional" until mid-August when the first food finally passed though. I'm thankful to be approaching "normal" again. Planning to resume full time employment on Nov 25th.

They found some issues.. a stomach ulcer is being biopsied and multiple polyps are also.
I will know more in mid Nov.

Prayers for my childhood friend and his family. He is on hospice and dying of stomach cancer. His body is still strong but he is hallucinating and combative. He wanted to pass away at home but his wife and daughter are at their breaking point. Pray for God’s mercy to end his suffering and for strength for his family.

I am asking for prayers for my baby brother Mike. Our hometown is Newport Tn and the floods have caused massive problems. In the midst of this my brother has entered the hospital with renal failure and sepsis and things are touch and go. The hospital is having to truck in water to operate in this crisis. There are a lot of people suffering during this time so while praying for them I ask you to remember my brother and family as well. Thanks for all you do, Freerepublic is still the best place to be.

I returned to the scene of where my house USED to be yesterday...OMG. They were burning huge piles of debris (my home and my possessions) on and next to the closed interstate.
I ran into a woman who had served in the Middle East...she said the scene looked WORSE than Beirut. It was surreal. Prayer is certainly needed…
My wife is Type-1 diabetic, her insulin pump was swept away, and it was a NIGHTWARE getting her back ‘online’, as we had lost her settings, and her endo is in ASHEVILLE, with no way to communicate with her. Fortunately, we were able to locate a diabetes counselor who was an expert in working with brand of pump. (God is wonderful.) This whole situation is why I am up at 4:20 posting on FR.
Governor Lee, Senator Blackburn, and Congresswoman Harshbarger were doing a press conference just a few yards from where my home used to be...the usual political blather that the media types just drool over. Useless.
Best assets for victims are good old CASH (so individuals can make the decision as to what they need...VISA gift cards and such...avoid company-specific gift cards, keep financial support as liquid as possible.) Best charity is probably Samaritan’s Purse. Dr. Graham’s homebase of Boone, NC was trashed. Red Cross and other high-profile charities are generally t*ts on a boar. FEMA?
Don’t make me laugh. NO sign of our black-clad saviors. Will reply to all...just be patient, as I am being yanked in a thousand different directions, but I have PLENTY of stories. :-) IMO, this was a message/judgement/warning from God Almighty...He is trying to get our attention. More later.

Dealing with multiple health issues (all going pretty well)
Dealing with overwhelming situation with son 52. Undergoing paracentesis treatments for damaged liver. Fighting issues with his Daughter and ex-wife

It’s been a terrible year. If it’s not a curse, it’s God Himself trying to tell me something ;)
As for the latest, the 3 tendons on the back of my hand that were cut are healing somewhat. Since June 11 I haven’t been able to use that, my right hand, for very much at all. No grip, no strength. Still swollen. Surgery just about 2 months ago now, I’m getting terrifically impatient and despondent over not being able to do my usual things.
As for the emergency hernia that happened - what? 5 days after hand surgery? - I had a spigelian hernia, no idea how or when but all of the sudden it was THERE. From 0 to 160 in 10 minutes. Wow, the pain.
So, the wonderful surgeon came in and opened me like a can of sardines at 3 AM on a Sunday morning, and after an initial 2 weeks of not doing very well, THAT is healing magnificently. The scar is about 8-10 inches but most of the bruising is gone. I still can’t actually look at it.
Before we knew what it was and before the morphine and fentanyl kicked in, I asked Dahoser to not only post for prayers on FR but I made him baptize me, too. Some kind of glacier water right outta the machine - I hope God doesn’t mind.
(now, although I do profess to be a born again evangelical I have yet to be properly baptized. Just haven’t found a church that does living, running water baptisms and I never thought the fish tank kind were very hygienic or proper).
And so that’s it for my surgical updates. I am surely better than I deserve but I wish I was a bit better than that.
Aside from all that, Dahoser is still only working a very cheap contract and we need a full time job with health insurance. It’s good to have the paycheck from the contract but that will be ending soon and we may end up living in our cars. At least we have 2 of them :)
Oy. Can you tell I haven’t been out of the house much in 3 months?? Dang I need some real life people, too.

Thank you all so much for your prayers for Baby N, who suffered a serious stroke shortly after birth. She has improved enough to go home, but the doctors say that she has suffered damage to her brain which may cause ongoing problems.

My niece has Gastroparesis, it’s a slow digestive disorder, I went through the same thing years ago. It is totally diet-controlled. The 1 med is useless. Supplements, eat simple, no hulls, peels, or seeds.
I’ve already told her what to do, she just has to be patient and start slow. Doctors sent her home on a liquid diet. Down to 95 lbs. I hit 108.
The coatings on fruits are making people sick. And you can’t wash them off, Gates crap. Apeel or Peelz. Handle with surgery gloves.

My brother is at home after having surgery on his back to remove the tumors to relieve the pain and a week later having a horseshoe size incision on the back of his head to remove a tumor. Both surgeons said things went well. He will be starting radiation and then immunotherapy. The prognosis is still a couple of years max with treatment. Thank you for the prayers.

Requesting prayer. My nephew’s son was killed in a motorcycle accident on 3/3. He was really excited about his little girls 1st birthday that was next week followed by the impending birth of his 2nd child that is due within 2 weeks. His wife just recently lost her mom and now her husband. Please pray for my nephew Chris. His son’s name was Tannar. Tannar’s wife is Annabelle. Please pray for them and our extended family that we may find peace and understanding. Thank you in advance.
My granddaughter Tessa went on a 7-week Humanitarian Mission to Cape Town, South Africa.
After 3 weeks there she got sick, was treated for Malaria and ringworm.
Now the blood test she had after returning home has ruled out Malaria, but she is still not well and will need more tests.
Please pray for her that she will be able to fight off what ails her with the help of God through your prayers.
