The Government of Trinidad and Tobago's Strategic Investment Mission to the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain (24th November – 2nd December, 2025) continued with a high-level meeting where the Honourable Sean Sobers M.P., Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, along with the Honourable Saddam Hosein M.P., Minister of Land and Legal Affairs and Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, and the Honourable Jearlean John M.P., Minister of Works and Infrastructure, met with His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade. 

Discussions centred on exploring mutual trade and investment opportunities as part of the Ministerial Delegation’s efforts to strengthen global partnerships and boost non-oil foreign trade, directly supporting the goals of the Government's Revitalisation Blueprint by securing foreign direct investment and diversifying our national economy.

The Honourable Sean Sobers, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs met with Mr. Kim Yong Tae, Vice-Chair of the Korea-Trinidad and Tobago Parliamentary Friendship Group and Member of the 22nd National Assembly of the Republic of Korea during a courtesy call on 7th November, 2025 at the Ministry’s headquarters. The meeting underscored the strong and enduring friendship between Trinidad and Tobago and the Republic of Korea with discussions focused on deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest and advancing shared development goals. 

Mr. Randall Karim, Permanent Secretary (Ag.), Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs and Head of the Foreign Service welcomed Her Excellency Maria Velasco, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago during a courtesy call on 4th November, 2025 at the Ministry’s headquarters. During the meeting, Ambassador Velasco presented Mr. Karim with a copy of her Letters of Credence ahead of her official presentation to Her Excellency Christine Kangaloo, President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago later that day.

Mr. Randall Karim, Permanent Secretary (Ag.), Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs and Head of the Foreign Service met with His Excellency Efthymios Efthymiades, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic (Greece) during a courtesy call on 6th November, 2025 at the Ministry’s headquarters. The meeting provided an opportunity the friendly relations between Trinidad and Tobago and Greece and to explore avenues for deepened cooperation and exchange. 

Mr. Randall Karim, Permanent Secretary (Ag.) and Head of the Foreign Service, Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs met with His Excellency Kareem Essameldin Amin, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago during a courtesy call on 5th November, 2025 at the Ministry’s headquarters. The meeting reaffirmed the warm and longstanding relations between Trinidad and Tobago and Egypt.

The Honourable Sean Sobers, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs met with His Excellency Giles Roduit, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, during a courtesy call on 5th November, 2025 at the Ministry’s headquarters. The meeting served to reaffirm the cordial relations between Trinidad and Tobago and Switzerland and to discuss opportunities for enhanced cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The Honourable Sean Sobers, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs met with His Excellency Balázs Heincz, Ambassador of Hungary to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago during a meeting held on 3rd November, 2025 at the Ministry’s headquarters. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of Trinidad and Tobago and Hungary to deepening cooperation and strengthening bilateral ties

The Honourable Sean Sobers, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs attended and delivered remarks at a reception hosted by Her Excellency Ayşe Selcan Şanli, Ambassador of Tűrkiye in celebration of the 102nd Anniversary  of the Republic of Tűrkiye on 29th October, 2025. In his statement at the event, Minister Sobers extended heartfelt congratulations to the Government and people of Tűrkiye on this milestone, commending the nation’s remarkable journey of transformation and progress since the proclamation of the Republic in 1923.

Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ms. Erica Fortune attends the opening of a Commemorative Exhibition by the First Peoples Sovereign Nations of Trinidad and Tobago on 28th October, 2025 at National Archives of Trinidad and Tobago. The Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain hosted a National Day Reception at the official residence of Her Excellency Cristina Pérez Gutíérrez, Ambassador of Spain on 16th October, 2025. Mr. Randall Karim, Permanent Secretary (Ag.), Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs delivered remarks on behalf of the Honourable Sean Sobers, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs extending warm congratulations to the Government and people of the Kingdom of Spain on this joyous occasion. The evening was a true celebration of diplomacy, friendship and shared purpose – a reflection of the strong and lasting bond between our two nations.

The German National Day Reception which took place on 3rd October, 2025 provided an important platform for diplomatic engagement. Mr. Nicholas Morris, Parliamentary Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, used the opportunity to engage with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Dr. Christophe Eick, strengthening key relationships.  

The Honourable Sean Sobers, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, joined His Excellency Michael Ryan Callan, High Commissioner of Canada to commemorate the 158th Anniversary of Canada’s Independence on 4th October, 2025 at Green Meadows, Santa Cruz. Minister Sobers congratulated Canada on this milestone and reaffirmed the strong diplomatic ties and shared values between both nations, highlighting continued cooperation in areas such as development, trade, climate action and gender equality.  

The Honourable Sean Sobers, M.P., Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs attended a special reception with His Excellency Seijoong Kwon, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea on 2nd October, 2025 at the Hyatt Regency which commemorated Korea’s National Foundation Day and the 40th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Trinidad and Tobago and Korea.

The Ministry of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Deborah Thomas-Felix as High Commissioner-designate of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to Jamaica. On 16th October, 2025, the Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar SC, Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, witnessed the execution of a Grant Document from the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, which provides for a grant of US$5, 000, 000 (TT$ 35,000,000) to the Government of Trinidad and Tobago.  This Grant Funding seeks to build and expand on the long and friendly relations between both countries.

This engagement reaffirms the longstanding  bonds of friendship and cooperation between Trinidad and Tobago and the Ghana  and underscores our shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

The Honourable Sean Sobers, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, met with His Excellency Pertti Ikonen, non-resident Ambassador of Finland, on 15th September, 2025 at the Ministry’s headquarters. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss areas of mutual interest and explore avenues to further strengthen diplomatic ties between Trinidad and Tobago and Finland.

The Honourable Sean Sobers, M.P., Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, met with His Excellency Didier Chabert, outgoing Ambassador of the French Republic, during a farewell courtesy call on 10th September, 2025 at the Ministry’s headquarters. The Minister expressed appreciation for Ambassador Chabert’s contributions to strengthening the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Trinidad and Tobago and France, and extended best wishes in his future endeavours.

Marking the 24th anniversary, we reflect on the resilience of the human spirit and reaffirm our commitment to a world free from terror. We will never forget.
