The Daly River region is a few hours drive from Darwin and well known for barramundi fishing, shady mango trees and the Merrepen Arts Festival.
The Nauiyu Aboriginal Community at the Daly River crossing has apopulation of around 500 people and has always been an important meetingand ceremonial location for the area. The crossing marks the extent oftidal influences on the river, with the road continuing on to Wadeye(Port Keats)
The Daly River provides some of thebest barramundi fishing in Australia and attracts large numbers ofamateur anglers all hoping to land spectacular metre long barra.
Althoughthere is no accommodation available in the Nauiyu Community, there aretourist parks offering a full range of accommodation styles in theregion.
