First elected in 1997, with a majority of just 56 votes, Ed has worked hard to stand up for residents in the Kingston & Surbiton constituency for over 25 years.
In 2015, he lost his seat in the Commons, but in 2017, he won it back from the Conservatives. And in the most recent General Election (2019) he secured his second highest majority.
In 2020, he became Leader of the Liberal Democrats and more recently, he has overseen the party's three Parliamentary by-election victories: Chesham & Amersham; North Shropshire, and; Tiverton & Honiton.
In addition to Kingston and Surbiton, the constituency also covers: Berrylands, Chessington, Hook, Malden Rushett, New Malden, Norbiton, Old Malden and Tolworth.
