Welcome to the
Carillon Society of Australia

Our members include carillonists, student carillonists and individuals interested in the carillon and its music. Carillonist members are based at the three carillons in Australia – the National Carillon in Canberra, the War Memorial Carillon at the University of Sydney, and at the Bathurst War Memorial Carillon.

National Carillon Canberra

The National Carillon was a gift from the British Government, built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the National Capital in Canberra. It was opened in 1970. The carillon has 57 bells.

War Memorial Carillon University of Sydney

The War Memorial Carillon commemorates the students, graduates and staff from Sydney University who died in the First World War. It was dedicated in 1928. The carillon has 54 bells.

Bathurst War Memorial Carillon

The Bathurst War Memorial Carillon was officially dedicated on Remembrance Day 1933, a clavier has been added in recent years to give the carillon its full voice. The carillon has 47 bells.
