MOBILE, Alabama – Airbus Americas posted Tuesday two new managerial job openings for theA320 final assembly line under construction at Mobile'sBrookley Aeroplex: director of aircraft delivery and manufacturing engineer manager.

Theaircraft delivery director, as its name implies, will be responsible for setting up and managing the $600 million facility's delivery organization, while theengineering manager is charged with setting up and managing front office operations on the assembly and manufacturing side as well as coordinating the paint shop and engine operations. Both positions require a minimum of nine months' training abroad.

Airbusbroke ground April 8 on the facilitydedicated solely to production of its A320 family aircraft, its first such operation on U.S. soil. The project – being referred to now as FAL-USA – will come online in 2015, deliver its first Mobile-assembled aircraft the following year and isexpected to employ 1,000when it reaches full annual production of 40 to 50 aircraft by 2018.

Minimum requirements for the aircraft delivery director include a minimum of five years’ aviation experience and experience in the area of airline customer relations, while the manufacturing engineer manager position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and the ability to work on an international team with preference given to candidates with a minimum three years’ experience in the aviation field.

The company also continues to advertiseopenings for three liaison engineer positions and hiring is expected to begin in earnest forblue-collar manufacturing positions in October through the first quarter of 204.
