We have two exciting centers on our campus that are open 360+ days a year and easily accessible by car or a 5-minute walk.
Visitors are able topurchase admission in advance, as well as at the ticket counter upon arrival (members can reserve free admission online as well). Discounted admission must be purchased at the ticket counter. General admission purchased online can be used at any time, it is not date specific.
The Air Zoo is located at 6151 Portage Road in Portage, MI, halfway between Detroit and Chicago. We're off I-94 (exit 78), just south of the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport.
Please note, MDOT has begun working on I-94 near the Portage Rd Exit and there may be detours. Please checkMi Drive for updates prior to your travels.

Come and explore an engaging panorama of stories, images, graphics, videos, and hands-on activities as you explore more than 100 years of contributions made by more than 50 accomplished women in the fields of aviation and space exploration. We are delighted to enhance these stories with items from our collection, images from our archives, as well as affiliate organizations like the Smithsonian and several featured assets from the Association of Science and Technology Centers (ASTC) IF/THEN an Initiative of Lyda Hill Philanthropies, which enriches U.S. projects like ours that highlight women and minorities in STEM.
Located in Kalamazoo, the Air Zoo is a one-of-a-kind destination perfect for the whole family! In addition to over 100 historic aircraft, our science center houses flight simulators, an experience theater, amusement rides, hands-on exhibits, a restoration program for WWII planes rescued from the bottom of Lake Michigan and a one-of-a-kind indoor mural that reaches 32 feet tall and 800 feet wide!
