Ok you X-Philes, here's that cool track from THE X-FILES: THE ALBUM track 14 at 10:03 in the track.This includes what many are speculating to be spoilers for the film, the series, and the end of the world as we know it. But hey, I feel fiiiiiiiiiiiiiine. Oops, sorry. Anyway here's the dish as given to me by Nicotine-Patch-Wearing-Man, so enjoy.....

I am a student at American University in Washington, D.C. A friend ofminemanages the campus radio station and today brought hometheradio station's promotional copy of "The X-Files: The Album," the new CDcoming out for the movie. (It is mostly techno, with some pretty goodSoulCoughing and Sarah McLachlan songs tossed in.)

The final track - #14 - is The Dust Brothers doing the X-Files themesong.I accidentally left the CD playing after the song ended, and after maybe5minutes of silence, a man's voice began talking about the plot of theshow,basically summarizing everything fans of the show have tried to piecetogether after watching the series. I did not recognize the voice, so itwas not one of the show's actors; it may have been Chris Carter himself.

I examined the album case, and there was a sticker on the front thatsaid,in tiny letters at the bottom, "Hear the truth revealed at 10:13." Sureenough, the guy started talking at 10 minutes and 13 seconds into track14.

I wanted to convert the entire four minutes into a wave file and put itonthe web for you. I figure it would just be faster (especially with myconnection speed) to just send you the transcript, which I typed upbelow.The punctuation and paragraphing is my interpretation, since it many oftheguy's sentences are run-ons.

"The Method" as they called it, though it was more so a germ-lineprocedureof singular meta-scientific [or "medi-scientific"?] complexity, had beengiven to them by the alien colonists as a quid pro quo. The Syndicatewouldhelp them [the aliens] to create a population of alien hybrids who wouldhide in plain site, cloned from human ova and alien bio-material so therewould be a clone race immune to the effects of the black oil when thereturnto the planet began.

For this, the Syndicate would be sequestered - granted a sort of immunityorasylum, given a place in the grander scheme. They were the Vichygovernmentto the German "Final Solution": collaborationists whose motivation wassimple, self-directed survival. These cloning operations were spreadacrossthe country, the cataloging and record-keeping done through a complexintra-institutional system that connected to every branch of government,from the Social Security Administration to the Department of Defense.

The operation, under the working title "Purity Control," had beenlaunchedin 1948, its original conception the brainchild of German scientistsgivenimmunity themselves for war crimes, and allowed to continue the eugenicexperiments that were Hitler's dark legacy. The Syndicate had begun as asubset of a shadow intelligence agency whose original orders were tocreateplausible denial and an effective cover-up of Purity Control. Butthrough50 years, [and] numerous U.S. and UN administrations, the principalsbeganto wrest control, accumulating power and influence across internationalborders, such that - by 1990 - the operation ceased to have any memberaccountable to any one government and whose only orders would be taken byaman named Strunkhold [phonetic spelling], a German industrialist who hadfled his homeland to northern Africa.

These men, whose knowledge and access provided control of a foreseeablefuture, had, in spite of this, everything to lose; their secret work, thecloning preparations and the cataloging constituted their greatestvulnerability: exposure. Their detection would ensure not just their owndemise, but a far-reaching dissolution of social and religious orderaroundthe globe.

To protect against this, the Syndicate employed methods ofdisinformation,using covert government programs that had been regrettably discovered, asakind of smokescreen - a dodge or blind where the transgressions ofCongress-accountable [sic] agencies served to hide their own more odiousundertaking. They had even, at times, used the UFO phenomenon to createanhysteria that science and the intelligentsia denounced so completely astomake belief in believers seem ridiculous, and completely discreditable.

They had also, in a crisis, used a tool of the colonists themselves -alienbounty hunters who policed the cloning operations and enforced rule onthecountdown to colonization. A double-edged sword whose clod-bloodedtacticshad helped to stem a leak, or threat, but also kept a watch on theSyndicate. A threat in itself, as the Syndicate had something to hidethatnot even the colonists knew of: a vaccine against the black oil, aninoculant against the substance in which the alien life force was held -infact, the very medium of the life force itself.

To guard this secret was perhaps even more critical than the truth of theexistence of alien life, and of colonization. If the Syndicate's ownsecretvaccine were discovered, the vaccine that would make themselves immunefromthe effects of the black oil, they would certainly be destroyed and thetimetable for colonization stepped up. They would protect this secretwiththeir lives. They would kill to protect it, as it symbolized the onlyhopethey had of avoiding enslavement when the planet was overtaken.

That they had been able to, over decades, conduct their work on thevaccineundetected was the result of a code among the Syndicate members that puthonor and the future above personal politics. But now this code wasbeginning to break down. An incipient scramble for power [was] beginningtodevelop. A threat from within that doubled the threat from without: fromagents Mulder and Scully, and the X-Files.
