Super Multi is a term, originally coined byLG, which describes a drive that is capable of writing to the following formats:CD-R ,CD-RW ,DVD-R /DVD-RW ,DVD+R /DVD+RW andDVD-RAM. A Super Multi drive cannot burn several types of discs however include DVD-RW DL and DVD+RW DL, as well asBD-R, PD discs, DD-CD-R and DD-CD-RW. Some Super Multi burners do supportDVD-R DL andDVD+R DL however. Both LG andNEC use the term for some of their products.
