TheCommon File Format (CFF) is a format used with multimedia files that use theUltraViolet cloud-based DRM licensing system.
CFF is designed to work on all UltraViolet-certified players and based on existing standards from the Motion Picture Entertainment Group and others.
It uses thefMP4 (fragmented MPEG-4) container format withH.264/AVC video and any of multiple types of approved audio (AAC, Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD etc.). CFF supported encrypted content using Google Widevine, Marlin, CMLA-OMA V2, PlayReady (fromMicrosoft) or Adobe Flash Access 2.0.
