<report >I was wondering if there is some easy way to learn how to play properly without having to rely on the in-game tutorial and UI that it's hard to understand for non japanese speakers, even when a translator is used. There is also a .pdf included in the game disk with explanations but this would suffer the same translation problem.Last modified on 2022-05-19 at 19:33

<report >Dai Sengo Muramasa -Majin Kakusei- has a pictographic UI, judging from the screenshots. Presumably the other one is in katakana. I'm not sure how much you edited your original post, but I'm assuming you don't know what the buttons say and I'm wondering what's so hard about reading it.

EDIT: In case that came off as too abrasive, I thought I should mention that a lot of this stuff is transliterations of English words. se-bu, lo-du, ge-mu, etc. It's not too late for you.Last modified on 2022-05-19 at 21:48

<report >Hi, I just changed IU for UI.

About the UI buttons being easy to understand, yes I suppose that there are some key functions that even with trial and error will reveal what they do but it takes too much time to use OCR on everything (including the in game messages and the names of the different units) and the translation can be misleading or the word can be taken wrong by the OCR programs.

This seems to be an interesting game and not hard to dominate, fortunately.

<report >If you want to cheese the game, just make bombers and send them to the cities with stars surrounding their names and bomb them. Once in a while some maps will require you destroy every unit. This site has a number of pages you might find useful.

The MC (when max level) and Valfiria have a skill which lets them have multiple actions per turn as long as they destroy a unit. Bombing cities doesn't count, so you'll still have to spend time there, especially if you have bad luck and the weather never turns sunny.

Planes and carriers are pretty much the only units worth bothering with, land units are completely useless and other ships are too expensive for what they can do.

As for the UI itself, if you're still having trouble the best way is probably to jump into a map and test everything out. It's not made well and gets very cumbersome when you have many units.

This is all for the original DX game, I haven't started on dai yet.

Edit: I took a quick look at dai, seems like they brought back the world map and resource management from the non DX version. If you don't want to deal with that, the strategy gameplay of both seem the same. I did try using the world map in the original version to see how it worked, but I couldn't work out how to use it either. Apparently it was so buggy you couldn't get some of the endings at all, which forced them into simplifying the game into the DX version.Last modified on 2022-06-06 at 08:08
