With four world-class ski resorts to choose from right in our backyard, Salt Lake City isn’t your average ski destination. Sure, you can rent a vehicle to drive to your powdery downhill destination, but there are also many convenient, more affordable ways to reach the slopes.
Ski bus service starts on November 23, 2025. Taking advantage of the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) ski bus to reachAlta,Brighton,Snowbird, andSolitude is a fantastic way to beat traffic and get to your destinations in style. It’s as easy as finding the bus route to your chosen ski resort and taking transit to the starting point. Plus, UTA ski bus transportation to the resorts is included with the Ski Super Pass.

If you decide to make your own way to Salt Lake City ski resorts by renting a 4WD vehicle, be mindful of the weather.Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT)’s Traction Law requires 4Wd and chains in certain weather. If this is your first time visiting a snowy city, study up on driving in the snow and spend some time practicing.

How does the Ski Super Pass help with transportation?
The Ski Super Pass gets you access to all four resorts; you can choose where you want to go each morning based on fresh snow, traffic, canyon closures or vibes. The pass also includes free ski bus fare, so you can save money, skip parking and help keep canyon traffic down.
When is Ski Bus service available?
UTA Ski bus service typically starts in late November or early December and runs through March or early April. The best place to check for updates and route information is on UTA's ski bus service page.
