D'Musical Teenage Idols (1969)- Stars Nora Aunor, Tirso Cruz III, Ike Lozada, Angelito Marquez, Berting Labra/ Introducing Lyn Salazar/ Directed by Carling MarquezDirector Artemio Marquez offered Nora Aunor top billing in a movie for Tower Productions. He had directed Nora once inYeYe Generation and he saw in her the making of a star. It’s a big gamble on the part of the producer, Ms.Victoria Villanueva, owner of Tower risking sizable fortunes for an untested star. Nora, in an article, says “I wanted to know if a movie starring me would click.” The picture,D’Musical Teenage Idols, which co-starred Tirso Cruz III and released in September 23, 1969, was a surprise box-office hit. The gamble paid off and a star was born. This was followed by JBC’sFiesta Extravaganza, Tower’sTeenage Escapades, JBC’sHalina, Neneng Ko and Viltra Elk’sNora, The Single Girl. Her starrers were all smash hits. It turned Nora into a Superstar.
