NotesDevelopment of the album began in summer of 2015. It was planned to be released through Materia Collective under the title "Synthetic Origins: A Final Fantasy IV 25 Year Anniversary Tribute Album" but ultimately was released as a free download via tssf's YouTube channel. The arrangement intends to recreate what the Final Fantasy IV soundtrack would have sounded like had it used arranged instrumentation similar to that of the "Final Fantasy Mix" soundtrack released by Nobuo Uematsu. He approached me one day back in 2014 to help him create a song that sounded like it was playing from FFIV. He gave me a song he wrote, I retooled it from scratch and added the second half of the song (where it starts to use the main theme). It turned out great. This is the arranged version of the song." Track 58 – Theme of Despair (Original) by Mathew Valente "So this is a bit of a derivative work made to sound like a sadder version of Theme of Love, and Lena's theme from FFV. You can hear the influence in the bass line from Lena's theme as well as some other influences from Aerith's theme from FFVII. I also used some legato techniques that Nobuo Uematsu used in FFVI and VII's soundtracks."
