During a training exercise,Kai Brightstar,Lys Solay andNubs were parrying with alightsaber training droid on a platform surrounded by logs.Jedi MasterZia Zaldor Zanna reminded theyounglings that to pass the test, they must get past thedroid and reach the platform together.Nash Durango andRJ-83 also attended the test and cheer from the sidelines.

Solay jumped over the training droid and jumped on the logs to reach the platform. She encouraged her classmates to follow. Nubs dodged the training droid and jumped over several logs in an attempt to reach the platform. However, he missed the platform and held onto a rope. Solay was unable to reach Nubs. While Nubs clung onto to the rope, Brightstar rushed over to help Nubs but dropped hislightsaber.

Despite Solay imploring Brightstar to leave the lightsaber and help Nubs, he decided to do both and usedthe Force to levitate both the lightsaber and Nubs. Though he managed to retrieve the lightsaber, Brightstar lost his focus and Nubs lost his grip and fell down. Master Zanna then concluded the training exercise.

While Solay was despondent, Durango found the training exercise fascinating. Brightstar apologized to Nubs, who accepted his apology and hugged him. Master Zanna gathered the younglings for a special guest, who turned out to be MasterYoda. Brightstar was excited to see his mentor. Yoda, who had watched the training exercise, counseled Brightstar telling him to focus on saving his friends rather than objects since lightsabers could always be replaced.

A special mission[]

Master Zanna told the younglings that Yoda had a special message for them. Yoda told the younglings that they had been invited to theKublop Springs festival. Zanna added that they would be performing a special demonstration of their skills at the festival. Master Yoda would be training them. In private, Yoda spoke with Brightstar, Solay, and Nubs; assigning them a mission to retrieve something special for the festival.

As the Jedi younglings, Durango, and RJ-83 climbed aboard theCrimson Firehawk for their mission, they were being spied upon by their nemesisTaborr Val Dorn. Val Dorn planned to sabotage their mission in order to get them sent back toCoruscant.EB-3 proposed following them and stealing whatever they were after. Val Dorn repeated EB-3's idea and took credit for it. He then told hisassociates to board hisship.

Brightstar and his friends traveled to a tent stall in thedesert. Brightstar wondered if the mysterious object they were sent after was a crystal. Solay speculated that it might be anArgonian Ruffle bird. Instead, theAqualish merchant gave them several seeds which Nubs wanted to eat but decided against after Brightstar reminded him or Yoda's mission. Solay was curious about why Yoda sent them to get the seeds. Brightstar reasoned that if it was important to Yoda, it would also be important to them. Brightstar decided they should head home. Durango thought it was an easy mission and that they would be back before the festival.

Val Dorn strikes again[]

Upon reaching theFirehawk, they received a distress signal. After some discussion with Durango, Brightstar convinced his friends that they should heed Yoda's teaching to help others. The younglings and RJ-83 traveled to thelocation of thedistress signal, only to receive ahologram message from Val-Dorn that the distress signal had been a ploy to lure them away from their ship. Val-Dorn revealed that he had stolen the bag of seeds.

The younglings returned to theFirehawk to discover that the pirates had vandalized Durango's ship. Durango was upset that the pirates wrecked her ship. Brightstar proposed that they split forces, with Durango and RJ staying behind to repair the ship while he and his Jedi friends went after Val-Dorn and the seeds. Durango discoverd that there was a nearby pirate den calledYarrum Tower. While it was too far to walk, Durango lent the younglings herspeeder bike.

The Jedi fight back[]

As the Jedi raced to Yarrum Tower, Val-Dorn, EB-3, and Pord attempted to sell the seeds to aChagrian pirate, who regarded them as worthless. He derided Val-Dorn as a "cute" wannabe pirate and touched his helmet. A dejected Val-Dorn and his associates decided to return to their ship. The Jedi younglings climbed up the docking ring as Val-Dorn and his associates walked up the gangplank to their ship. Val-Dorn placed the seeds on a shelf before heading upstairs.

The Jedi infiltrated the ship by holding on to the retractable landing ramp. As Brightstar retrieved the bag of seeds, Nubs accidentally toppled several crates and aGNK-series power droid. This commotion alerted Val-Dorn and his gang, who confronted the Jed. Val-Dorn demanded that the Jedi returned the seeds, saying he stole them fair and square. Brightstar responded that they belonged to Master Yoda and passed the seeds to Solay who jumped on top of a stack of crates.

When Brightstar used his energy emitter to undermine the crates, Solay passed them to Nubs who ran from EB-3. Brightstar threw a crate on top of EB-3, temporarily blinding him. Brightstar released the docking ramp and sent Solay and Nubs away with the bag of seeds. He stayed behind and fought with Val-Dorn, who drew hiselectrostaff. Following a brief confrontation, Brightstar used the Force to shove Val-Dorn aside.

The three Jedi were soon picked up by Durango, who had arrived in the newly repairedFirehawk. She lowered thedocking ramp a few meters above thedocking ring. Though Solay managed to jump aboard, Nubs missed the ramp and clung onto a rope. While Brightstar was distracted, Val-Dorn used his grappling cable to snatch his lightsaber. Heeding Yoda's advice, Brightstar used the Force to lift Nubs and the rope safely aboard Durango's ship. Solay convinced Brightstar to leave his lightsaber behind and escape since he was outnumbered. He jumped aboard theFirehawk. Nubs gave him a comforting hug and the Jedi departed. Val-Dorn growled in frustration.

Yoda's gift[]

At theKublop Springs festival, the locals watched and cheered as the younglings demonstrated their lightsaber skills. Brightstar and his friends arrived with the seeds, which Yoda revealed were raresparkle-fire seeds, a symbol of friendship between the Jedi and the people ofthe galaxy. They celebrated the promise of young ones to grow up young and bright. As aneclipse of Tenoo'sblue moon andred moon occurred, Yoda planted the seeds in a pot which quickly sprouted into aplant that let off coloredfireworks.

Later, Brightstar told Yoda that he had lost his lightsaber during the mission. Though he doubted his own abilities, Yoda reassured him that he made a selfless choice and gifted Brightstar his owntraining lightsaber, which he had wielded when he was Brightstar's age. Yoda told Brightstar that he would be a great Jedi one day. Brightstar then raised thegreen lightsaber.
