Point of origin

Yobshrimp were aspecies of tiny creature native to theplanetNaboo. They were eaten by the seven species ofscalefish found inLake Paonga and in theNaboo Abyss. Tiny yobshrimp lived in the gills oftee scalefish, and were then licked out and eaten bylaa scalefish.[1] On theplanetBatuu,fishing families cultivated the foreign yobshrimp for consumption,[2] andYobshrimp Noodle Salad was a dish available atDocking Bay 7 Food and Cargo inBlack Spire Outpost on Batuu during thewar between theFirst Order and theResistance.[3]

In the newStar Warscanon, yobshrimp were first mentioned in the2015 reference bookStar Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know[1] before appearing as food inStar Wars: Galaxy's Edge[3] a theme park land that opened atDisneyland Park onMay 31, 2019.[4] The species originated in theStar Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in the1999 video gameStar Wars Episode I: The Gungan Frontier.[5]
