AVenator-class Star Destroyer was used by theGalactic Empire during the early stage of itsreign. It was present during theconstruction of theDeath Star^[2] inorbit ofGeonosis. Newly constructed byCorellian Shipyards,^[1] theStar Destroyer lacked thered markings present on others ofits kind seen during the precedingClone Wars, instead adopting a grey aesthetic. The Venator ferriedGalactic EmperorSheev Palpatine, hisSith apprenticeDarth Vader, andMoffWilhuff Tarkin to the Death Star^[2] for an inspection^[4] of the under constructionbattle station.^[2] The destroyer was assigned to defend the incomplete battle station.^[5]
