The bridge of the starship.
Thestarship was a type ofMon Calamariwarship that had a roundhull and a set of two wing-like projections and dorsal structures. It had communication equipment, as well as a commandbridge with similar equipment found in other Mon Calamar starships such as theMC80AHome One Type Heavy Star Cruiser. It was equipped withengines and ahyperdrive, and was operated by multiple crew members.[1]
Role[]
The starship was used fornaval warfare, with one being used byAlliance NavyAdmiralGial Ackbar as hisflagship on one occasion.[1]
History[]
The starship was deployed as the flagship of atask force dispatched by theAlliance to Restore the Republic to aid theMon Cala Mercantile Fleet during theirmutiny against theGalactic Empire. Once theImperial Navy dispatched aMon Cala blockade fleet to squash the mutinousfleet, Admiral Ackbar and histask force exitedhyperspace behind the Imperial vessels. Commanding the allied forces and recognizing that a gap must be made in the Empire'sblockade, Ackbar used his ship's communications to contactFleet CaptainPysk Lila of thecoaxium-carryingAurora Flare and provided his plan.[1]
Ackbar commanded his forces from the starship during the mutiny on Mon Cala.
After Lila agreed to Ackbar's plan, she evacuated theAurora Flare and stayed behind with a skeleton crew topilot theAurora Flare. The Imperial fleet fell for the trap, and theAurora Flare exploded, blowing a hole in the Empire's defenses and allowing Ackbar's task force and ships from the merchant fleet to escape.[1]

The starship debuted in theforty-ninth issue of the2015Star Wars comic series byMarvel Comics. The issue was written byKieron Gillen and illustrated bySalvador Larroca. The issue was released inJune 6,2018.[2]
