- "You will take the throne. It is your birthright to rule here."
- ―Darth Sidious, to Rey[1]

The Throne of the Sith was the ceremonial chair of Darth Sidious, the Dark Lord of the Sith and Emperor of the galaxy.
Athrone was a ceremonial chair or seat occupied by a figure of authority such as themonarch ofNaboo,[2] theDuchess ofMandalore,[3] the members of theBardottanBahk-tov Council,[4] and theGalactic Emperor.[5] Figuratively, the term also designated the power, duties, or rank ascribed to aroyal person.[6] Aboard thesecond Death Star,EmperorDarth Sidious' throne was a large, contoured swivel chair with control panels in the arms.[5] In theImperial Palace, his throne was massive and solidblack, but simple with no ostentation.[7]Supreme LeaderSnoke of theFirst Order once had a seat similar to a throne on-board his flagship, theSupremacy, though this was not an actual throne for royalty.[8]

Rey had a vision of herself and Kylo Ren sitting on The Throne of the Sith.
TheThrone of the Sith was located in thethrone room of theSith Citadel onExegol, an ancientSithplanet located in theUnknown Regions ofthe galaxy. The Sith throne was offered toKylo Ren andRey in turn by theresurrectedDark Lord of the SithDarth Sidious. However, during theBattle of Exegol, Sidious claimed the throne for himself, declaring his return as the "one true Emperor."[1]
Some thrones had built-in features that allowed them to act in a functional capacity. For example, the throne in theTheed Royal Palace had a secret compartment in its armrest containing a number ofELG-3A blasters with shortened barrels, a last line of defense for the monarch. This was put to good use by QueenPadmé Amidala during a battle to retakeTheed from theTrade Federation, allowing her andCaptain Panaka to dispatch thedroids inside the throne room and captureViceroyNute Gunray.[9]
