Continuity[]
The New Essential Guide to Droids is somewhat special in the sense that it answers one of the questions that have been discussed in theStar Wars fan community since the release ofStar Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords—namely, the question of theJedi Exile's canonical gender. In this book it is established that the Exile is afemale, and thus the book breaks with the tradition of making characters that originate as customizable characters in video game male.
Her gender was established in three different paragraphs quotations of which are listed below:
- "Five years after the Star Forge incident, HK-47 teamed up with theheroine known as the Jedi Exile to battle a trio of Sith Lords."
- ―from the entry on theHK assassin droid, p. 107[4]
