Signal transceivers were devices that could be attached to astarfighter and allow itspilot to tell friendlies from enemies. In3 ABY, theRebel Alliance mounted them onto four stolenTIE fighters that four pilots would be using to infiltrate asecret Imperial armada, so that they could distinguish each other from the actualImperialTIEfighters. However, during theBattle of the secret armada, the Rebels' signal transceivers werejammed.Rebel pilotLuke Skywalker was forced to rely onthe Force.
