Plot summary[]
Mace Windu converses withAnakin Skywalker about a communications blackout on the planetRidlay. Windu lands on the planet withPonds and other clone troopers. They encounter a local namedAgon, who warns that ghosts have driven the villagers into hiding. Floating creatures appear, which the clones attempt to shoot, but the blaster bolts pass through them. Agon takes Windu to meet with a localleader, who explains that the alleged ghosts appear every fifty years during a total eclipse, but that this year they have been mysteriously aggressive, driving people from their homes. At the leader's bidding, Agon leads Windu to a pit called theAscension Well, from which the ghosts emerged. Through the Force, Windu senses that the creatures are in fact alive, but that their minds are conflicted. More of the creatures appear, followed by CountDooku atop a Separatist tank.
