ASentinel-class landing craft, also known as aSentinel-class shuttle,Sentinel assault shuttle orImperial landing craft, was a large-scaletrooptransport utilized by theGalactic Empire. During the early stages of theGalactic Civil War, Imperials such asAgentAlexsandr Kallus andthe Grand Inquisitor utilized these transports to either deploystormtroopers or to travel to aplanet. ImperialStar Destroyers carried these shuttles.

Designed bySienar Fleet Systems in the shape of its cousin, theLambda-class T-4a shuttle, this larger, more spaciousshuttle was primarily used to ferry a complement of 75stormtroopers into battle[9]—55 moretroops than theLambda-class.[15] Theship featured three wings: one stationary center foil and two articulated flanking wings.[1] The landing craft also had shielding strong enough to be able to withstand several hits from aQuasar Fire-class cruiser-carrier's turrets.[16] They could also be modified with special containers carrying vehicles.[17]
The shuttle also had two spotlights at the front of the craft.[18] It had several entry points, including a front ramp, a rear ramp,[19] and doors to the side.[20] The interior of the ship had a main passenger section and a cockpit. In the passenger/cargo area, there were benches and harnesses on each side with a ladder to the side of the front ramp leading directly to a hatch for cockpit access. The cockpit section had four seats.[19] The shuttle could also feature a refresher on the opposite side of the ladder.[21]

In18 BBY, aSentinel-class shuttle transporting MajorLessa Banebreak andSquad 131 of theImperial Army, which consisted of 10TK stormtroopers, landed onTryth'sFellian spaceport to try and help ISB AgentSendril Crane apprehendSohi andClone Force 99[22]

In13 BBY, a youngHan Solo, desperate to escape the planetCorellia, was recruited by theImperial armed forces stationed on the urban world. Seeking to become one of the galaxy's greatestpilots, Solo initially applied for theImperial Navy, believing it to be his best chance at eventually acquiring astarship he could use to rescue his loverQi'ra, who had previously been captured by theWhite Worms gang. Having been given the surname "Solo" byChiefRecruitment OfficerDrawd Munbrin, Han was told to report to transportID-83, a Sentinel-class lander, en route to theImperial Naval Academy onCarida.[23]
ASentinel-class shuttle was once used fortransporting theImperial cadets of theAcademy for Young Imperials on theplanetLothal to a nighttime aquatic training mission.[24]
Stormtroopers andthe Grand Inquisitor took aSentinel-class toFort Anaxes, an oldRepublic military base, to either capture or eliminate theSpectres, after the rebels' successful mission torescue a former Imperial employee. After a brief battle on the abandoned base, theJediKanan Jarrus piloted thePhantom and destroyed the shuttle before running away.[10]
Weeks later, another one was used in the chase of the rebels andSenatorGall Trayvis.[18]

MinisterMaketh Tua of Lothal was to take a shuttle on a meeting withGrand MoffWilhuff Tarkin when she was rescued by the rebels, but after she boarded it, it exploded as part of a trap set byAgentKallus andDarth Vader, killing her.[19]
The rebels later became notorious for stealing shuttles, such as the shuttleLagos.[25] Later, a rogue formerclone trooperCT-7567, nicknamed Rex, andJedi Knight Kanan Jarrus used another one of these stolen shuttles during theirmission to destroy theImperial Interdictor.[8]
ASentinel-class shuttle was used by the Empire in an attempt to regain control of a Imperial carrier which was captured by theSpectres and members of theFree Ryloth Movement. Although the landing craft was destroyed when members ofFree Ryloth Movement and theSpectres used theQuasar Fire-class cruiser-carrier'slaser cannons to blast the landing craft.[16]
Sometime during theJedha insurgency, theGuardians of the WhillsBaze Malbus andChirrut Îmwe joined with thePartisans to steal a shuttle. AlthoughSaw Gerrera betrayed them and tried to take the shuttle to blow up the orbitingStar Destroyer, the two Guardians were able to convince his troops to go through with the original plan—evacuating an orphanage.[26]
Shortly before theBattle of Yavin, at least oneSentinel-class shuttle was deployed onTatooine as the Empire searched for thedroids that were in possession of the stolenDeath Star plans. On the planet, the shuttle flew over thesandtroopers ofFoot Patrol 7, who were sent to find the droids.[27]
Shortly afterward,CommanderAlecia Beck of theISB used one of the shuttles to carry asquad of stormtroopers off theVehement during the hunt forCaluan Ematt.[28]
