TheSalamander thermal shielding system was a type ofheat shielding armor enhancement produced byKaminoan Armorsmiths during theGalactic Civil War between theAlliance to Restore the Republic and theGalactic Empire following theBattle of Yavin. The system cost 1000credits and kept its wearer protected from high temperatures using active and passing cooling systems, an insulated body glove and heat-proof coating. It could be installed into any suit ofarmor that covered the entire body and was sealable.
