Rebel Alliance starbird

TheRebel Alliance starbird,^[1] also known as theAlliance crest, or as theResistance crest,^[2] was a symbol of theAlliance to Restore the Republic. Theflight helmets of theRebelX-wingpilots were adorned with thestarbird logo.^[3] The former rebelshock trooperCara Dune had the Alliance starbirdtattooed on her cheek.^[4] Nearly thirtyyears after theBattle of Endor, theResistance adopted the same emblem. Manypilots, includingPoe Dameron, worehelmets featuring the logo.^[5] TheNew Republicinsignia also had the starbird.^[6]

It was created by combining thepersonal signature ofMandalorianartistSabine Wren and thethree-pronged symbol used bySaw Gerrera.^[7]
